Academic Scholarship Award
The Cape Cod Chorale is proud of its Scholarship Award program, which is part of the Chorale's community outreach efforts. Through interaction with guidance counselors and music teachers — who are responsible for nominating candidates from Cape Cod high schools — the Chorale's Scholarship Award Committee selects the winner. Awards are based on the student’s demonstrated leadership, academic performance, musical ability, and good character. The award money may be used for tuition, room and board, books, lab fees and equipment. Students from Barnstable High School, Cape Cod Academy, Mashpee High School, Sandwich High School and Sturgis Charter School, who are at the high school senior level, are eligible to apply. Further information on how to apply is available from the guidance counselor’s offices in those schools.
Regretably, this program has had to be suspended for the 2011-2012 season due to budgetary constraints. The Chorale looks forward to reinstituting its scholarship for the 2012-2013 season.

The 2011 winner was Alicia Fawcett, who is a graduate of Barnstable High School, placing 13th in a class of 350+ students. Alicia will be attending Colby College in the fall, studying music. All of us in the Chorale wish her great success both now and in the future.
